You will be able to fill out a form prior to our scheduled appointment, and during the first session we'll review that together. We'll cover a comprehensive review of your personal health history and current health care needs, as well as practice Maya Abdominal Massage and instructions in Self Care techinques and recommendations of complementary modalities, as well as nutritional and or lifestyle education and adaptations.
Please allow 2 hours for the first session and about one hour for subsequent sessions.
Contraindications
Maya Abdominal Massage is not recommended under certain conditions:
- During active menstruation
- When IUD (intra-uterine device for contraception) is present
- Immediately after abdominal surgery
- When an active infection or cancer present in pelvic area, or while undergoing active treatment of chemotherapy
- During the first trimester (12 weeks) of pregnancy
- Hiatal Hernia (gentle massage required)
First session $125
Follow ups: $70 x hour
