Holly's story

Sorry I never emailed about Stefan! Things got hectic in a hurry with all the visitors in town. The delivery was simple. My water broke at home the evening of Sept. 17th, and we checked in to the hospital that night.

After 14 hours of unproductive labor, we had some pitocin, and an epidural an hour later. I had a talk with the anesthesiologist about the epidural pump, which he was happy to give me (you nay remember that I brought this up in prenatal class).

So I had a low dose of epidural which worked out perfectly. I could feel the contractions before the monitor picked them up so they eventually took the monitors off. (Except the fetal heart rate: the umbilical cord was wrapped twice around his neck so they wanted to make sure he didn't have too much stress).

Luckily it was a long umbilical cord and a skinny neck so as soon as he crowned the doctor unwrapped it and everything was fine. He was born 9/18 at 7:49 p.m. and weighed 6 # 11 oz.

He is a sweet little baby and I can't wait for you to meet him.

Also finally my carpal tunnel is subsiding. I still have a little in my right hand but it is getting a lot better. So it's a good time for me to start up yoga again!
