Kelly's Birth StoryNoah James Morrison was born on 6/3/07 at 8:46 AM. He weighed 7lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long. Here is my story...I woke up at 4:45 Sunday morning with fairly strong contractions that felt different from the Braxton Hicks ones I had been having for the last month. I was still feeling rather comfortable though and took my time taking a shower and packing my bags for the hospital. By 6am my contractions were consistently 5 minutes apart and lasting 1-3 minutes long. I dragged my husband out of bed and by 7:30 we headed for the hospital. The contractions started coming hard and fast at that point. Fortunately, it was Sunday morning and there was very little traffic so we made it to Good Sam by 7:45. I was in a lot of pain by then, and having a hard time making it to the front desk to check in. By the time the nurse got me to the room and checked my cervix, I surprised to find that I was already dilated to 9! They immediately let me start pushing and within 6 pushes, my little boy had arrived. I was shocked and thankful that my first delivery went so quickly and so well. I know that what I learned in yoga really helped prepare my body for the pain and helped me through a natural childbirth (something I hadn't initially planned on).
I can't wait to continue with my yoga practice at postnatal!
