Massage for Pregnancy & Postpartum


DaisiesMassage is one of the most pleasurable way to reduce stress, and that is especially true when you are pregnant. It can help you achieve a deep level of relaxation, which creates balance in the body, encouraging regular blood flow to the uterus, placenta and your baby.

As your body undergoes enormous changes, massage can also help provide you with soothing, nurturing touch, personal attention, and physical relief from pregnancy-related discomforts such as tense shoulders, painful lower back and hips, leg cramps, sciatica-type pain, increased bodily fluids and fatigue.

Massage can also provide you with the experience of focusing inward and letting go, and it can create the same positive physiological states and increased alpha brain wave activity as meditation.

After the birth, massage can help with your body's recovery, relieve back pain, achy shoulders and tense muscles.

I include various modalities, including Swedish massage, relaxation techniques, Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki and Gemstone Therapy, to help relieve the discomforts of pregnancy, balance your changing body and help you to connect with your baby. I practice in a quiet home office and use mostly side lying and supine positioning, with pillows for support.
